Carly
Schnurr was born in 1994 and raised in Burlington Ontario, where
she began singing at age 6. Carly sang on stage for the first
time during a kid’s karaoke concert at a local vacation
resort and soon began to develop her new talent and passion. By
age 9 Carly was performing publicly as often as possible, feeding
from inspirations like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Kelly
Clarkson, but it wasn't until Carly discovered country music that
she began to take her love for singing as a serious future career.
Being exposed to idols like Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride,
and more recently Taylor Swift, Carly began to develop her own
creative style and tone in her vocals and performance.
In 2006 Carly entered her first talent competition, surprising
the audience with her rendition of Celine Dion's "When You
Look at Me” and making it to the finals in the Western Fall
Fair. Also in 2006 and again in 2007 Carly performed at the annual
Blues in the Park festival in Niagara falls with blues singer
Steve Burnside and the Marquis band. Following this success, Carly
expanded her horizons and joined a number of singing competitions
in 2007, earning first place rewards for performances in The Ontario
Country Open Contest (under 12), Burlington Idol Youth competition,
and the Milton Steam Era Festival's Junior Talent Contest.
Carly now resides in Milton, Ontario and is currently in the studio
working alongside James Hopson of Wellcraft Music on her upcoming
debut album, set to be released in the fall of this year. As a
Canadian singer, Carly hopes to make a big impression with the
maturity of her voice and the youthfulness of her performance.
